If you need a small, tough, serial-friendly router that jumps you forward from 4G into 5G without the price/complexity of full-fat 5G modems, this is it. 5G RedCap gives you SA, low latency and better capacity than 4G.

With Cat 4 4G fallback for universal coverage, the device keeps Teltonika’s familiar recipe: dual-SIM for resilience, proper VPNs, hardened firewall, multi-PDN/APN options, plus the RS232/RS485 terminal block that installers actually need on industrial jobs.  And of course, it’s RMS-managed out of the box.

FAQ

Is RedCap “real 5G”?
Yes—5G SA with reduced complexity and power draw. You get lower latency and better capacity than 4G, without the large 5G modem cost/heat.

Does it work on 4G everywhere 5G isn’t present?
Yes. It falls back to LTE Cat 4 with up to 195/105 Mbps headline rates.

How many Ethernet ports?
Two 10/100 ports—WAN and LAN. You still get multi-WAN features (failover/load-balance) using mobile plus wired/Wi-Fi.

Can I power it by PoE?
Yes—802.3af PoE-in on the LAN port (Class 0), or 9–57 VDC via the 2-pin terminal.

Does it have I/O pins?
RUT276 focuses on serial (RS232/RS485); digital I/O isn’t provided on this model.

How many Wi-Fi clients?
Up to 50 connected devices on 2.4 GHz (Wi-Fi 4) with AP/STA/Mesh modes and 802.11r/k/v roaming features.

Is RMS required?
No—but highly recommended for remote fleet management, secure tunnelling and bulk firmware/config.

Quick rule of thumb: If the device pushes data to the cloud, choose dynamic IP. If you need to reach in to the device, choose private fixed IP with VPN access. Public fixed IP is available for specific use cases, but lock it down properly.
